OpenVXML Studio 3.0 Demos

Voice Application Demonstration (view)

This demonstration shows the creation of a functioning weather lookup service, from the initial blank canvas to a successful test call. Along the way it illustrates and explains several key conecepts behind developing in OpenVXML, including the relationship between the Voice and the Application, how media files are handled, the "magic filenaming" functionality, IVR code reuse and the deployment process. It also demonstrates a few of the myriad uses of script blocks.

This demonstration explains how to connect an IVR to a webservice and how to send SMS messages.

For those who would like to create this sample app on their own, a page containing the scripting used can be found here, and a .zip containing the audio/grammar files is here.

Instant Messaging (view)

This demo is an extension of the Weather application; it quickly adds the ability for the IVR to interact with the caller over a completely new communication channel: instant messaging. The call flow's structure and logic are reused. The demo ends with an interaction with the Weather application over IM.

Video (view)

This Demonstration illustrates the true flexibility of OpenVXML. Extensible Media handling allows users to create an application as before, but to add video instead of audio files to create an interactive video application accessible through a video SIP phone, enabling a new dimension of customer interaction.
