About Us

OpenMethods is a professional services firm formed in 2003, that maintains a consulting practice specializing in IVR and VoiceXML application development and implementation, Voice User Interface design (VUI), and CRM/CTI integration and development. In 2004, OpenMethods was nominee for 2004 Small Business of the year by the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. OpenMethods is also a Strategic Development and Board Member of the Eclipse foundation and has made significant contributions to the the Eclipse VTP project.

Executive Team

Tim Barnes

Tim Barnes, the Managing Partner, formerly worked for Genesys Telecommunication Labs. Tim initially worked in professional services specializing in IVR and CRM integration. He then moved to Expert Services, supporting large scale beta-product implementations as well as, performing research and field trials for proposed products and services. From Expert Services, Tim moved to Product Management to lead the development and launch of the Genesys G+ Adapter Program. Specifically, Tim designed and managed the development of the G+ Adapter for Siebel 2000, Siebel 7, Siebel 7.5, Peoplesoft CRM (Vantive), and the Genesys Integration Server (GIS). Prior to working at Genesys, Tim worked for Sprint Local Telephone Division designing, implementing and maintaining a variety of IVR platforms including Nortel Open, Periphonics, and InterVoice.

Jerric Davis

Jerric Davis, a Partner, formerly was one of the founding members of Valiant Networks, a provider of next generation telecommunications solutions. Specifically, Valiant offered certification and testing of telecom networks and equipment and outsourced operations management. Prior to his work at Valiant Networks, Jerric worked for Williams Communications designing the implementation and operations processes for Williams' award winning next generation ATM backbone. Jerric's experience encompasses multiple roles in the OAM&P process and experience with a wide variety of telecommunications equipment, including large Network IVR's, carrier class switching platforms and data networks.

Trip Gilman

Trip Gilman, a Partner, formerly was the Lead Software Architect for LookandFeel.com, a Kansas City based web development firm. During Trip's tenure with LookandFeel the company won several "Webby" awards and many other awards for usability, design and functionality. Trip has held several software development roles and has worked as an independent consultant. He has designed software architectures for several large enterprises including Americo Life Insurance, Kansas City Southern, and SoftVu Corporation. Trip has over 9 years of experience with the Java language and is regular contributor to Sun's Java developer forums.
